Instead of spending
illustration time on
projects I felt had
no passion, I began
writing, illustrating,
and self-publishing
independent comics.
"
Nothing Left to Lose", a 216 page graphic novel, debuted in stores across the country and received a surprisingly warm response. Since then I've self-published a book each year and currently have 3 new graphic novels in motion. We've lead the wave of digital format comics by being the first company to release our comics in Sony PSP format.

Being a major
geek at heart,
I had the desire
to create a fully
online drawing
application. With two gifted friends, we formed the start-up Facetags.com. Facetags had a short, but powerful life due an aggressive marketing campaign, some weighty excitement, and a dedicated team of ninjas. Our success inspired me to continue with looking towards exciting new creative technologies. I'm currently leading the creation of the art community site, Sketchd.com.

Today, I work by day for an amazing company in Chicago where I create unique collateral for Fortune 500 companies.
I began illustrating children's books in high school. With each page I developed a deeper love for the printed form and the power of self-publishing. Today, I have 13 children's titles under my belt.

Along the way, I learned that life as a professional illustrator was a great way to destroy my passion for drawing. Illustrating light-hearted children's tales was one thing, but how many vague corporate cliches must one be forced to represent? Luckily, I was influenced by some
amazing people who helped me see that I could apply my illustration skills to graphic design. I began my full-time career as a designer in 2002 as the sole designer for a $500 million-dollar company. There I learned first-hand how to create from scratch any print-based product.
