The definitive book "bible" of animation and cartooning, Preston Blair's Animation stands as sole reason many youngsters looked into art as a profession. It is clear, concise, and overflowing with content. I've scanned in my ancient copy here so the quality isn't that great. And a few of the less compelling pages have been removed due to quality. That said, enjoy and spread Blair's word!
